Afternoon Paletas

Visual Development piece for Gol-M depicting a typical afternoon with our protagonists: sitting along their school's steps hanging out and eating paletas (popsicles) while talking about various topics. The piece is meant to evoke a sense of comfort and familiarity while depicting the characters' own personalities.

Clay: resting along the slope of the half-wall, looking towards the camera - he is the protagonist, the one with super powers, and the center of the story.
Crystal: sitting on the half wall, poised more than Clay is, mid-bite and focused on Derek - she is focused, a good listener, and seemingly prim and proper, but her choice of where to sit shows that there's more of a rebel than one would expect.
Derek: sitting on the stairs, shoes off, in the middle of talking about a topic (either clay's powers or his favorite show's new episode) - he is excitable, and despite his older sense of style he very much marches to the beat of his own drum... in the ways he can.
